Job Title: General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for the strategy and operations of the ONE WORLD Training Public Benefit Corporation and additionally supports both of the ONE WORLD investing entities. It is the perfect role for a highly entrepreneurial professional with a proven track record building businesses, managing teams, and delivering value in the Impact Economy. This leader will benefit from ONE WORLD’s historical success and momentum, lead a small team of talented professionals, leverage proven revenue streams and a deep network across the community. The role is most similar to that of a CEO at an early-stage start-up. This leader will demonstrate creativity in working with the private sector and driving material improvements to society and the environment.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA This external facing position includes frequent travel throughout the Bay Area to visit with entrepreneurs, investors, clients and other ecosystem partners as well with teammates. Work days without meetings may be conducted from a home office.
Key Responsibilities
1. ONE WORLD Training Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) (80%)
Manage all facets of the business with an emphasis on sales and service delivery, while serving as the team lead
Refresh vision for ONE WORLD Training - target market, business model, talent plan, marketing plan
Design and lead sales efforts; materially increase both closed sales and pipeline
Ensure success for existing clients and revenue streams as measured by increasing NPS scores and client retention figures, and increase the number of revenue streams
Support internal employees and build relationships with key partners
Oversee operational systems including CRM, billing, payments, legal, accounting
2. ONE WORLD Marketing (10%)
Oversee all marketing activity across the ONE WORLD ecosystem- including events, thought leadership and IP creation, and online marketing.
Ensure the ONE WORLD “voice” is clear and compelling, and meeting business goals
Dramatically increase the number and level of engagement of ONE WORLD email subscribers
Manage 3rd party marketing agency engagements
Recruit and manage internal marketing resource
3. ONE WORLD Impact Investments (10%)
Leverage and drive synergy with the various investing entities at ONE WORLD, including the Impact Investments LLC seed fund and the Global Investments LLC fund that invests in public markets and alternative asset classes.
Support entrepreneurs and fund managers in the ONE WORLD portfolio with beyond the dollar support- leadership development, ecosystem building, etc.
Collaborate with asset owners who are currently or who are interested in supporting sustainable investments
Capabilities:
Previous experience working in leadership role in a fast paced start-up
Proven track record successfully managing direct reports
Excellent sales strategy and execution capabilities, proven track record of closing on $100,000+ consulting engagements
Ability to “toggle” between highly strategic projects and core operational activities
Able to prioritize multiple requests with competing priorities and deadlines and communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders
Familiarity with the trends and key organizations in the social impact ecosystem
Compensation & Benefits:
All employees are eligible for company health care plan and flexible work locations while based in The San Francisco Bay Area
Salary:
Annual base salary $150,000+ (based on experience), plus bonus, plus profit sharing
